D-L BRAKE WINCHES

Brake winches have design features which provide additional safety and convenience for many lifting and pulling jobs. Raising and lowering swing keels on sailboats, operating dock and boat davits, and lifting equipment are applications where a brake winch may be your best choice. Brake winches have a friction brake which automatically applies a constant, positive holding action throughout raising and lowering operations. The load remains exactly in position anytime motion is stopped. Brake winches should be used in place of ratchet winches in applications where a danger would be created if the winch load were allowed to free wheel. All Dutton-Lainson brake winches are built for multipurpose hauling and lifting operations. They are not to be used as hoists for lifting, supporting or transporting people, or for loads over areas where people could be present.
