D-L BRAKE WINCHES

Have features which provide additional safety and convenience for many lifting and pulling jobs. Raising and lowering swing keels on sailboats, operating dock and boat davits, and hoisting equipment are applications where a brake winch may be your best choice. Brake winches have a friction brake which automatically applies a constant, positive holding action throughout raising and lowering operations. The load remains exactly in position anytime motion is stopped. Brake winches should be used in place of ratchet winches in applications where a danger would be created if the winch load were allowed to free wheel. These three winches are Standard Equipment on Boat Lifts made by the following manufacturers: Shore Master, Hewitt, Shoreland'r, Harbor Master, and Newman Dock. They feature enclosed gear and brake parts, 2-1/2" diameter drums, and 12-5/8" long handles. These winches are also available without handles for use on boat lifts.
